NCP vows to create ‘investment heaven’ in Bangladesh
NCP is committed to improving this ranking and aims to position the country among the top 50 nations, says Nasiruddin Patwary

The National Citizen Party (NCP) will work diligently to create an "investment heaven" in the country in the coming days, party's Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary said today (10 April).
"We invite global investors to join us in the country's 'investment heaven,' and we assure them that with the NCP's leadership, Bangladesh will become a developed nation," he said during a press briefing at Hotel Intercontinental in the capital on the final day of the Investment Summit 2025.
Referring to the World Bank's 'Doing Business' report, he said that Bangladesh ranks 168th out of 190 countries in terms of ease of doing business.
He added that the NCP is committed to improving this ranking and aims to position the country among the top 50 nations, a promise made to foreign investors.
Nasiruddin Patwary said global investors had shown strong interest in several sectors, including renewable energy, the blue economy, and healthcare.
However, he acknowledged that foreign countries have concerns regarding the financial sector, citing the bankruptcy of several financial institutions due to money laundering over the past 15 years.
In response, he said the NCP would reduce the rate of non-performing loans (NPLs) to below 10% from its current level.
The NCP leader also said that the party would support businesspeople and investors, whether in government or opposition, in the coming days.
Regarding policy continuity, he assured that the NCP would work hard to ensure business policies remain consistent at the state level, even after changes in power.
He further proposed the creation of an "All Party Economy Council" to guarantee long-term economic stability.
"We will raise the country's FDI inflow to $15 billion, up from the current $1.3 billion," he stated.
He also said that the NCP would collaborate with all stakeholders to eliminate bribery, bureaucratic obstacles, and indiscipline in maintaining law and order.
"NCP will create numerous opportunities for businessmen and ensure political commitment for smooth business operations," he added.
NCP Joint Convener Mahabub Alam and Joint Member Secretary Shagufta Bushra Mishma were also present at the event, among others.
