Hamas has slammed a statement by the US which claimed the Palestinian group "uses ambulances and more broadly human shields for terrorism".
It said the remarks by Brian Hughes, a spokesperson for the US National Security Council, express the Trump administration's "understanding of the crime of executing Red Crescent and Civil Defence personnel in Rafah".
"[The remarks] are a hideous example of immoral solidarity with the Nazis of our time in their brutal war against defenceless civilians and humanitarian organisations," the group said.

The Israeli military said in a statement it struck Hassan Aslih, whom they described as a "terrorist, who operates under the guise of a journalist" and a member of Hamas' Khan Younis Brigade.
Aslih, a well-known Palestinian journalist in Gaza, with hundreds of thousands of followers on social media platforms, was critically wounded in the strike, medics said.

Peace impossible without addressing the Palestinian cause, el-Sisi says
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi today (7 April) said addressing the Palestinian cause was critical to ensure peace.
He made the statement during a joint news conference with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, in Cairo.
"I unequivocally emphasise that establishing lasting and permanent peace will remain far-fetched so long as the Palestinian cause remains unresolved and so long as the Palestinian people continue to face the consequences of ferocious wars that will deprive the current and future generations of the right to a stable and secure future," he said.
"We also agreed that any calls for forcibly transferring the Palestinians out of their homeland is unacceptable," el-Sisi added.

Palestinian Bedouins say Israeli settlers terrorising them off their land
Israel's bombing of Gaza intensified fears among tradtional Bedouin communities in Palestine.
Since then, their fears have only come true.
Settlers from illegal Israeli settlements had harassed and attacked his village for years. Still, the violence escalated sharply after Israel launched what many describe as a "genocidal" war on Gaza.
The Palestinian village of Zanuta, a traditional herding community in the Jordan Valley, is a perfect example.
An Al Jazeera report says 250 inhabitants gradually left their village due to settler attacks and harassment.
"They beat the old man, his wife and children," Atil, a resident, recounted to Al Jazeera.
"It was the first time we ever saw that level of aggression from settlers."
Even Palestinian Bedouins who are citizens of Israel are being kicked off their land, human rights groups and activists say.
About 120,000 Palestinians live in so-called "unrecognised villages" across the Naqab Desert.

Israel controls 50 percent of Gaza as Palestinians forced into shrinking areas: Report
In the early days of the war, Israeli troops forced Palestinians from communities near the border and destroyed the land to create a buffer zone more than 1km (0.6 miles) deep, according to the Israeli rights group Breaking the Silence.
Its troops also seized land across Gaza, known as the Netzarim Corridor, that isolated the north, including Gaza City, from the rest of the narrow, coastal Strip, home to more than 2 million people.
When Israel resumed the war last month, it doubled the size of the buffer zone, pushing it as far as 3km (1.8 miles) into Gaza in some places, according to a map Israel issued. The buffer zone and the Netzarim Corridor make up at least 50 percent of the Strip, the AP has reported citing Yaakov Garb, a professor of environmental studies at Ben Gurion University, who has been examining Israeli-Palestinian land use patterns for decades.
Last week, Netanyahu said Israel intends to create another corridor that slices across southern Gaza, cutting off the city of Rafah from the rest of the territory. Israel's control of Gaza is greater, taking into account areas where it recently ordered civilians to evacuate before planned attacks.

Netanyahu's plane avoided flying over countries that could enforce ICC warrant: Report
The aircraft carrying the Israeli PM from Hungary to the US flew 400km (248 miles) further than the normal route to avoid the airspace of several countries that could enforce an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court, according to the Haaretz newspaper.
Last November, the ICC had issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and his former defence minister for alleged war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza. According to the Haaretz report, Israel believed that Ireland, Iceland and the Netherlands could have acted to enforce the warrant.
Netanyahu is in Washington, DC for a meeting with Trump. He flew in from Hungary, where he held talks with Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Before Netanyahu's Hungary visit, Orban's government had announced that it was pulling out of the Rome Statute, which obliged it to arrest and hand over anyone subject to an ICC warrant. Orban also made clear before Netanyahu's arrival that his government would not respect the ICC arrest warrant, despite its decision to withdraw from the ICC becoming effective only after a year.

Israel's war on Gaza is 'worst ever conflict for reporters'
The Israeli attack that killed two people, including a journalist, in Khan Younis comes days after the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs said Israel's war on Gaza is the deadliest for media workers ever recorded.

That comes up to an average of 13 per week.
It means that more journalists have been killed in Gaza than in both world wars, the Vietnam War, the wars in Yugoslavia and the US war in Afghanistan combined.
Since the report's publication, at least two more journalists have been killed. They are Helmi al-Faqawi, who was killed today, and Islam Maqdad, who was killed yesterday along with her husband and their child.

Families in Gaza 'scavenging for basics every single day'
Sam Rose, the acting director of UNRWA in Gaza, says Palestinians in the enclave are facing dire levels of hunger after more than a month of Israel's total blockade.
Rose, who returned to the UK about a week ago after spending 16 months in Gaza, told Al Jazeera that "nobody has enough food" there.
"There are massive increases in malnourishment amongst children. People are scavenging around for the basics every single day and are facing sustained periods without enough food," he said.
"Whether they are in a condition of famine or on the verge of famine, quite frankly, it doesn't matter. They are in absolutely desperate conditions and they can do nothing about it," he said.
Infants are particularly vulnerable, Rose added, noting that they face lifelong consequences if deprived of adequate nutrition in their first two years.
"Their organs will begin to fail, their skin will start to shrivel, and they will die. And this is what we have been seeing in Gaza over the past 16 months," he said.
