Two Bangladeshis arrested as Libya busts human trafficking ring
Libya’s Stability Support Apparatus (SSA) led the operation that dismantled the network, and accused the three arrested of preparing 17 Bangladeshi migrants for illegal transport to Europe

Two Bangladeshi nationals and one Libyan have been arrested in Libya in connection with a human trafficking network operating between Libya and Bangladesh.
Libya's state-funded security agency, Stability Support Apparatus (SSA), led the operation that dismantled the network and accused the three arrested of preparing 17 Bangladeshi migrants for illegal transport to Europe, reported The North Africa Post on 26 March.
The traffickers were arranging for the migrants to be transported to the Libyan city Zawara, where further plans for a dangerous Mediterranean crossing were being made.
The trafficking ring allegedly involved receiving migrants at Benina International Airport in Benghazi, offering temporary housing in Tripoli, and organising sea passages to Europe.
The arrestees have confessed to their roles in the operation and have been transferred to the public prosecution for further investigation. They will remain in custody for six days during the ongoing inquiry, says the report.
