A new two-year executive committee has been formed for the Bangladesh Herbal Products Manufacturing Association.

The committee has been formed with M Mosaddek Hossain, chairman and managing director of UniMed UniHealth Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (Herbal Division) as president and Md Hasibur Rahman, additional deputy managing director of The ACME Laboratories Ltd. as general secretary.

The new committee officially commenced its journey on Monday (24 March) through a formal meeting held at the Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI) office.

The 17-member committee included Senior Vice President Abdul Mukaddir, managing director of Incepta Herbal & Nutricare, Syed Kaiser Kabir, managing director of Renata PLC (Herbal Division) and Dr Alamgir Mati, managing director of Modern Herbal Food Ltd.

Other committee members are Shibbrata Roy (SB Laboratories) as joint general secretary, Munshi Darul Islam (Total Herbal & Nutraceuticals) as organising secretary and Sukumar Biswas (Alien Pharma – Herbal Division) as treasurer. 

Executive Members of the committee include Tapan Chowdhury (Square Pharmaceuticals PLC), M A Haider Hossain (Drug International), Saifuddin Murad (Hamdard Laboratories), Dr Mostafizur Rahman (Popular Pharmaceuticals), Md Mizanur Rahman (Mirco Nutricare), Habibur Rahman (Dipled Herbal & Nutraceuticals), Kazi Harun-ur-Rashid (The Ibn Sina Natural Medicine Ltd.), Md Nurul Hossain (Lead Herbal & Nutraceuticals) and Dr Anwar Mushtaq (Marco Unani Pharma).

The newly formed committee aims to enhance the growth of the herbal and nutraceutical sector in Bangladesh, ensuring quality standards and policy advocacy for sustainable industry development.
