Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal suffered a cardiac emergency on Monday morning while at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) in Savar. He was swiftly transferred to KPJ Specialized Hospital, where an angiogram procedure was performed to address a blockage in one of his arteries.

Tamim is currently under close observation in the hospital's coronary care unit.

BCB President Faruque Ahmed expressed gratitude to the medical teams at BKSP and KPJ for their swift intervention. "We are very thankful to all the medics and specialists for their timely actions in this critical situation. The overwhelming support for Tamim shows how deeply he is loved by the nation," he said in a statement.

He also confirmed that the Chief Advisor's Office, the Ministry of Youth & Sports, and the National Sports Council are in regular contact with the board regarding Tamim's condition. The BCB is actively monitoring his health and has assured full support for his recovery.

Tamim's family has urged the nation to keep him in their prayers as he undergoes treatment. The BCB has also requested fans and well-wishers to avoid gathering at the hospital to ensure uninterrupted medical services. Further updates will be shared in due course.
