Three die from dengue, 251 hospitalised in 24 hours
In the capital, 24 new patients were admitted to hospitals under Dhaka North City Corporation, while 33 were admitted under Dhaka South City Corporation.
Three people died from dengue across the country in the last 24 hours between 8am yesterday (7 July) and 8am today (8 July), while 251 new patients were admitted to hospitals during the same period, according to the latest dengue situation report.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued today (8 July) by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the three deaths, one each was reported in Barishal Division, Khulna Division and the Dhaka North City Corporation area.
Among the 251 newly hospitalised patients, 66 were admitted in Barishal Division, 40 in Chattogram Division, 19 in Dhaka Division (outside city corporations), 40 in Khulna Division, 15 in Mymensingh Division, 12 in Rajshahi Division and two in Sylhet Division, all outside the respective city corporation areas.

With the latest fatalities, the number of dengue-related deaths reported this year has risen to 22.
During the same 24-hour period, 199 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the total number of recoveries this year to 6,875.
The total number of dengue cases reported nationwide so far this year has reached 7,557.
According to DGHS data, Bangladesh recorded 1,02,861 dengue cases and 413 dengue-related deaths in 2025.
In 2024, the country reported 1,01,214 dengue infections and 575 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease.
