The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has urged all parties concerned to refrain from blocking roads and causing unnecessary public distress during the remaining days of Ramadan for the convenience of the city's residents.

In a notice today, signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations) Md Talebur Rahman, the DMP said, "Devout Muslims, after completing their work during the changed office hours, rush home to break their fast with their families.

"Naturally, during Ramadan, there is an increase in the number of vehicles on the streets of the city," it added.

Traffic police face various challenges in managing a high volume of vehicles within a short time, leading up to iftar, the DMP noted.

"Additionally, recently, some vested groups have been blocking roads and highways for trivial demands, making life difficult for the city's residents," said the DMP.
