Road accidents last month resulted in 87 deaths of children across the country among a total of 578 casualties, according to a report by the Road Safety Foundation.
In February, 596 road accidents occurred in the country, which also left at least 1,327 injured.
Of the deceased, 73 were women.
A total of 227 people were killed in 241 motorcycle accidents, which is 39.27% of the total deaths. The motorcycle accident rate is 40.43%.
Among pedestrians, 114 were killed in accidents, which is 19.72% of the total deaths.
The Road Safety Foundation prepared the report, published today (8 March), based on national dailies, online news portals, various electronic media and its own data.
