Manchester City midfielder Rodri has returned to training, raising hopes of an earlier-than-expected comeback following his serious knee injury in September.
The 28-year-old ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during City's 2-2 draw with Arsenal on 22 September and was initially expected to miss the rest of the season.
Rodri's absence has been a significant blow to Pep Guardiola's side, contributing to their struggles this term. The defending Premier League champions are 20 points adrift of leaders Liverpool and have also been eliminated from both the Champions League and League Cup.

A video released by City on 21 February showed the 2024 Ballon d'Or winner participating in an individual training session at the club's Etihad Campus. This development fuels optimism that Rodri could return sooner than anticipated.
The Spain international had originally targeted a return for the Club World Cup, which starts in the United States on 14 June.
Guardiola, however, has been cautious about setting a firm date for Rodri's return. Earlier this month, the City boss said: "The most important thing is his recovery. We won't rush anything."
