No shortage of soybean oil during Ramadan: Adviser Khalid
He also urged traders to keep essential goods affordable for the common people during the holy month

Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain today (26 February) assured that there will be no shortage of soybean oil in the market during Ramadan.
Speaking to journalists after a seminar organised by the Islamic Foundation in Sylhet, the adviser emphasised that mobile courts will be in operation to prevent price hikes and ensure market stability.
"In many countries, prices of essentials drop during Ramadan, but in Bangladesh, they tend to rise due to market syndication. The interim government is committed to keeping prices at a tolerable level for low-income people," he said.
He also urged traders to keep essential goods affordable for the common people during the holy month.
The seminar, chaired by Divisional Commissioner Khan Md Reza Un Nabi, was attended by DIG of Police Md Mushfiqur Rahman, Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner, and officials from the administration and Islamic Foundation.
Speakers at the event also urged imams to play a role in protecting the biodiversity of the haor region.
