Joint forces to launch patrol countrywide, intelligence activities to be increased: CA's press secretary
Joint forces, including police, Bangladesh Army, and Border Guard Bangladesh and navy, will start patrolling from today (24 February) to improve law and order situation across the country, Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said today.
Speaking to reporters at a press briefing at the Ministry of Home Affairs, he also said activities of intelligence agencies will be increased further.
"Patrols will be increased in areas in Dhaka where the law and order situation has deteriorated. Checkposts will be set up at many places throughout the city," he said.

Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury organised the press briefing after a meeting of the core committee on law and order this afternoon.
Shafiqul said the core committee reviewed the overall law and order situation, including various incidents that have occurred in the past few days.
"Senior officials of law and order forces were present at the meeting. Everyone took the matter seriously. Dhaka has been given priority in this regard," he added.
Mentioning Dhaka's heavy traffic, he said a decision was taken to buy 100 motorcycles for the police and other forces to catch criminals.
Asked about the "attack" on a Bangladesh Air Force base in Cox's Bazar today, the press secretary said, "A report has been sought from the Cox's Bazar police superintendent and the intelligence agency for details about the matter. Action will be taken after submission of the report."
Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, Chief Adviser's Special Assistant Khoda Baksh Chowdhury and senior officials of law enforcement agencies were present in the meeting.
