Ekhon TV reporter dies from road accident injuries
She passed away early today (18 February) while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital

Masuma Islam, a reporter for Ekhon Television's Rajshahi bureau, has died from injuries sustained in a road accident.
She passed away early today (18 February) while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital.
Masuma hailed from Narayanpur in Natore's Gurudaspur. She was the only daughter of her parents.
On 14 February, she was travelling to her in-laws' house in Cumilla with her husband. As they were getting off a bus and arranging for a CNG-run auto-rickshaw opposite the Noorjahan Hotel on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway, a speeding bus struck them.
The impact left Masuma, her husband, and the autorickshaw driver critically injured. They were first taken to Cumilla Sadar Hospital before being transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
When her condition did not improve, Masuma was moved to a private hospital. She was in the Intensive Care Unit until she passed away shortly after 4am today.
According to family sources, her body will be taken to Markazul Islam in the capital's Babar Road for bathing rituals. Her namaz-e-janaza is expected to be held there at around 10:30am.
Afterwards, her remains will be taken to her village home in Natore for burial.
