Leaders and activists of the Revolutionary Students' Council have begun an indefinite hunger strike at Dhaka University, demanding the ban of the Awami League as a political party.

They gathered at the Raju Memorial Sculpture this afternoon.

Since Thursday, two Dhaka University students, DU unit's Jatiotabadi Chatradal Assistant Organising Secretary Omar Faruk and activist Abu Sayeed, have been on hunger strike at the same location, demanding the ban of the Awami League.

Today, the leaders and activists of the Revolutionary Students' Council joined them in solidarity. 

Among those who joined the hunger strike are Convener of the council Abdul Wahed, General Secretary Fazlur Rahman, Joint Convener Yamin Sarker, Assistant General Secretaries Ashraful Islam and Ariful Islam, among others.
