A speeding tractor crashed into a motorbike in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district, leaving two youths dead, said police this morning (9 February).

The deceased were identified as Nahid Hossain, 19, and Sweet, 25, both hailing from Puratan Bastabpur area of the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Damurhuda police station Humayun Kabir said Nahid and Sweet were returning by the bike to Puratan Bastabpur from Ragunathpur after finishing some personal work last night (8 February).

At 11:30pm, the speeding tractor coming from the opposite direction rammed into the bike carrying the pair in front of a madrasha in the Bastabpur area, leaving them dead on the spot, said the OC.

The bodies were taken to the police station and would be handed over to the families upon completion of legal procedures, added the police official.
