The house of former food minister and district Awami League General Secretary Sadhan Chandra Majumder in Naogaon was set on fire and then torn down.

Located in the city's Post Office Para area, the house was vandalised for around half an hour from 5:30pm today (6 February).

Protesters then set the structure on fire.

Earlier around 4pm, thousands of people waited for a bulldozer to demolish the district Awami League party office in the city. 

The party office and the residence of former MP from the neighbouring Sadar constituency, Barrister Nizam Uddin Jalil John, were also demolished. 

A sign reading 'Public Toilet' was also hung on the AL's party office.
