Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus today (2 February) greeted the members of the Hindu community on the occasion of the Saraswati puja.

The Hindu community is set to celebrate Saraswati Puja, worshiping the Goddess of knowledge across the country tomorrow amid traditional enthusiasm, festivity and religious fervour.

In a message on the eve of the day,  the chief adviser noted that Bangladesh is an abode of communal harmony.

He said for thousands of years, people of all religions have been living together in this country irrespective of cast, colour and religion.

"The country belongs to all of us and is a safe place for all people regardless of religion or caste," he added.

The interim government was formed through the unprecedented uprising of the students, workers, and the masses on 5 August which has been relentlessly working to improve the fate of all irrespective of race, religion, and caste and ensure their equal rights, he said.

Professor Yunus said the Goddess Saraswati is a symbol of truth, justice, and the light of knowledge.

"She is the omnipotent of knowledge, speech and melody. On the occasion of worshiping Goddess Saraswati, I call upon all Hindus to devote themselves to the development and progress of the country by becoming a devotee of knowledge," he said.

Prof Muhammad Yunus wished peace, welfare, and prosperity of all citizens of the country.
