Audi presents Q4 Sportback e-tron concept

German automaker - Audi, first exhibited the Q4 e-tron concept at the Geneva Motor Show 2019. It was the first electric SUV to have been manufactured by Audi. The Q4 Sportback e-tron is the second model among Audi's line of e-SUV which will go into production next year.

The Q4 Sportback is powered by two electric motors which deliver an output of 225kW. It comes with quattro all-wheel drive transmission system. This concept SUV can go from 0-100 kmph in 6.3 seconds and the top speed has been restricted to 180 kmph.

This electric SUV is equipped with a large battery that holds the capacity of 82kWh and takes up the entire space between the axles. Audi claims that the Q4 Sportback can deliver a range of over 450 kilometers and in case of variants with rear-wheel drive, the range will extend to 500 kilometers. 

The silhouette of the Sportback slopes downward to the back in a subtle and dynamic curve. The roof line transitions into the significantly inclined D-pillars and ends in a horizontal spoiler at the level of the lower window edge. As a result, the future Audi Q4 Sportback appears much longer than its sister model, the Q4 e-tron concept.

On the rear end, the taillights are connected with each other via a light band. Both versions of the Q4 share the same design of the bumper diffuser unit with its horizontal slats and the illuminated e-tron logo in the middle. The fenders of this concept follow the same design that Audi adapted to back in the 1980s.

This concept's interior gets a two-tone combination, light colours on the upper cabin and dark carpet on the floor. The headlining, window pillars, upper section of the door rail, and dash panel are fitted with white and beige microfiber textiles.

The floor covering is made of recycled materials. Instead of chrome-plated metal decor frames, the surfaces are covered with a high-quality multi-layer paint finish. The seats have integrated head restraints and are upholstered with Alcantara material.

The cockpit comes with a new feature - large-format head-up display with an augmented reality function. It can display important graphical information, such as directional arrows for turning, directly on the course of the road. To fulfil infotainment needs, this concept SUV is equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen.

The Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron concept is painted in kinetic grey, a light metallic and pearl effect colour that takes on a distinct greenish tinge depending on the angle of the light. In contrast, the lower sections of the body are painted in a dark grey colour.
