NTMC, BTRC directed to preserve July-Aug uprising data
A tribunal bench, led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumdar, issued the order following a petition filed by the prosecution today
The International Crimes Tribunal today (16 January) directed the National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre (NTMC) and the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to ensure the preservation of all digital information related to various incidents during the July-August uprising.
A tribunal bench, led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumdar, issued the order following a petition filed by the prosecution today (16 January).
The other members of the tribunal are Justice Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Md. Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.

All mobile operators and internet providers have been ordered to assist the prosecution with the necessary information.
"The data related to incidents during the movement, stored by NTMC and BTRC, is automatically deleted after a certain period. The tribunal has instructed the authorities concerned to preserve this crucial data separately, as it may be needed for future trials, particularly concerning the July-August uprising," said Chief Prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam.
