Bangladesh cricket calendar 2025: Major events to look out for

The Bangladesh cricket calendar for 2025 is packed with some important bilateral series and multinational events.

The country's cricket has ups and downs in 2024 amid individual brilliance. Like the past year, Bangladesh will have a busy time in international cricket this year as well.

Last year, Bangladesh played 10 Tests, nine ODIs and 24 T20 Internationals, including the T20 World Cup.

This year, Bangladesh has six Tests scheduled. Apart from global and continental competitions, there are 18 ODIs according to FTP. There are also 18 T20Is.

The ICC Champions Trophy will be held this year in Pakistan and UAE. Bangladesh have already confirmed their berth in the Champions Trophy. In addition, there is Asia Cup. As a result, Bangladesh cricketers will be on the field almost all year round, even apart from bilateral series.

There are six bilateral series in this year. Bangladesh will tour two countries for bilateral series and they will host four bilateral series at home.

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is going on now and it will continue until February 7. Bangladesh's international schedule will start with the Champions Trophy. Bangladesh will play the group stage matches of the Champions Trophy in Pakistan and Dubai. India, Pakistan and New Zealand will be their opponents in the group phase. If they can reach the semifinals and finals, they will get the opportunity to play two more matches.

The bilateral series will start when Zimbabwe will visit Bangladesh in March. Both teams will play three ODIs and as many T20s in March-April. The Bangladesh team will then tour in Pakistan in May. Bangladesh played two Tests in Rawalpindi last year. This time, they will play three ODIs and same number of T20Is.

Sri Lanka will visit Bangladesh for a month-long tour in June-July. They will play two Tests and three ODIs and three T20Is in the full tour. India will visit Bangladesh in August for three ODIs and as many T20Is.

The Asia Cup T20 tournament will be held in September in India.

The West Indies cricket team will visit Bangladesh in October-November for three ODIs and three T20Is. Bangladesh will end the 2025 with two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is against Ireland.

Bangladesh will play two Tests against Afghanistan sometime during this year. These two Tests were supposed to be played last year. But it has been postponed following discussions between the two boards.

Millions of cricket fans want Bangladesh to shine in this year, despite past failures.
