Summit signs employee healthcare service agreement with BSH

Summit Group, Bangladesh's largest infrastructure conglomerate, has signed an employee healthcare service agreement with Bangladesh Specialized Hospital (BSH) to tackle Covid-19.

Summit Corporation and Summit Holdings along with their subsidiaries employ over 6,000 people. 

Summit's subsidiaries include power generation, telecommunication, internet connectivity, energy import and port management infrastructures which the government identified as "essential services during this lockdown."

The employees of Summit have been providing infrastructural services continuously in this unprecedented time. 

To support them and their dependents, the group inked the strategic healthcare agreement with BSH, reads a press release issued yesterday.

Summit Group Chairman Muhammed Aziz Khan said, "I am delighted that we are signing this healthcare service agreement with BSH that would take care of our Bangladeshi employees, staff and workers at a time when Covid care is absolutely in short supply across the world."

Japan's largest energy company and also Summit's partner JERA provided four ventilators and one reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) machine to BSH. 

A request from Summit Group chairman prompted the initiative, JERA President Satoshi Onoda said, adding that the group is supporting different measures to combat Covid-19 in Bangladesh. 

Summit Group Vice Chairmen Md Farid Khan and Md Latif Khan, Directors Azeeza Aziz Khan, Fadiah Khan and Salman Khan; Advisor Rear Admiral (retd) Riazuddin Ahmed; Summit Communications Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Md Arif Al Islam, Summit Gazipur II Power MD Engr Mozammel Hossain, Summit Technopolis MD Abu Reza Khan, Summit Bibiyana Power MD and CEO SM Noor Uddin, BSH Chairman Dr Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury and other senior officials of the hospital were present at the virtual signing ceremony.
