An intelligence team from the National Board of Revenue (NBR) carried out a raid at the President Resort and Agro Limited in Mithamain, Kishoreganj.

The resort is owned by a family member of former Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner Harun or Rashid, popularly known as DB Harun.

The operation, headed by Chand Sultana Chowdhurany, director of the Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of NBR, resulted in the confiscation of several documents and the hard drives of computers stored at the resort premises.

A senior CIC official involved in the raid, speaking to The Business Standard on condition of anonymity, said, "We conducted the raid with support from the local administration. During the operation, we seized hard drives from four computers, along with registrars, copies of invoices, and other relevant documents."

The official further explained that the collected materials would be analysed to uncover any instances of tax concealment, either in relation to the resort's investments or in the personal tax files of individuals involved in its management.

Earlier on 4 December, CIC director general Ahsan Habib organised an eight-member team, led by Chand Sultana Chowdhurany, to conduct the raid on the designated date, 9 December.

According to a CIC order obtained by The Business Standard, the controversial former DB head Harun is mentioned as a key individual linked to the company.

The resort spans roughly 30 acres and features 20 two-storeyed cottages. Each room, equipped with air-conditioning, Additionally, the resort boasts a large pond with a helipad in its center.
