Imran Tahir accuses Rangpur Riders of unpaid dues from last year’s BPL

Experienced South African spinner Imran Tahir has accused Rangpur Riders of failing to fulfil their financial obligations from last year's Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Speaking ahead of a Global T20 match against Rangpur Riders on 4 December, Tahir revealed that he has yet to receive the full payment agreed upon in his contract.
The experienced leg-spinner, who represented Rangpur Riders in the 2023 BPL season, expressed his frustration, saying, "I am personally motivated to win this match for Guyana because last year I played for Rangpur in the BPL. I still haven't received my full payment from them, which makes me even more eager to perform against them."

Despite the off-field drama, Rangpur Riders managed to secure a 15-run win over Guyana Amazon Warriors in the first match of the tournament. The victory, led by captain Nurul Hasan Sohan, helped Rangpur bounce back after losing their opening two matches of the season.
Opting to bat first at Providence, Guyana, Rangpur were bowled out for 117 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Their total seemed modest, but a disciplined bowling effort restricted Guyana to just 102 runs in 19.1 overs, sealing the win for Rangpur.
