According to sources, 64 workers were terminated from their jobs on charges of creating chaos at a factory of Islam Group of Industries Ltd. The dismissed workers were paid their dues as per the labour law.

But the workers alleged that their names have been put on the BGMEA blacklist by the Islam Group of Industries and as a result, they are not getting hired by other factories.

Inspector Rajib said the laid off workers clashed with factory officials while protesting against being blacklisted and demanding removal of their names from the blacklist.

"Currently, the situation is tense in the area. Industrial police are at the scene to control the situation," he added.
