Customs houses to remain open 24/7 to maintain supply chain

According to the directive issued today (18 September), goods consignments can be cleared outside the regular hours with NBR approval.

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has ordered all customs houses and related offices across the country to operate round the clock to ensure the smooth functioning of the supply chain.

According to the directive issued today (18 September), goods consignments can be cleared outside the regular hours with NBR approval.

The directive, signed by NBR member Farzana Afrose, also instructs ensuring professional and passenger-friendly conduct with airport passengers, particularly migrants.

Additional instructions are implementing digital documentation processes, updating field office websites, and holding regular meetings with business and relevant parties.

The instructions also include adhering to High Court guidelines for preventing sexual harassment, using alternative products to single-use plastics, and effectively managing the Grievance Redress System.
