Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul has urged the public to avoid crowding hospitals and uploading photos or videos of injured or deceased children following the Milestone School plane crash in capital's Uttara today (21 July).

In a Facebook post today, the adviser wrote, "The condition of the National Burn Unit is not good. Doctors are doing their best. Still, we may hear more heartbreaking news. Allah is our only hope."

He added, "Do not crowd the hospital unnecessarily. It will only worsen the condition of the burned children."

He encouraged voluntary blood donors to contact the National Burn Unit, Dhaka Medical College Hospital or the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) from tomorrow (22 July).

Concluding his message, Asif Nazrul sought prayers for the victims and shared an emergency hotline number (01949043697) for those who need urgent help.

As of this evening, at least 19 dead and 164 hospitalised as a Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) training aircraft (F-7 BGI), which took off at 1:06pm today (21 July), crashed into a building inside the Milestone College campus at Diabari in the capital's Uttara and caught fire following an explosion – leading to multiple casualties.

Firefighting units are still working at the scene while ambulances and metro trains are transporting victims to the hospitals.

ISPR also confirmed that the aircraft's pilot, identified as Flight Lieutenant Md Towkir Islam of the BAF, succumbed to his injuries.
