Daraz Seller Summit 2020 held

Daraz Bangladesh, the country's largest online marketplace, has successfully organised its seller summit for the third year.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year's summit has been conducted online to ensure the health safety of all of its sellers, said a media statement issued on Sunday.

About 1,500 sellers participated in the live event through the Daraz Seller Page.

The event aimed at keeping its sellers updated about the ever-changing technologies that have been constantly developing in Daraz since it joined the Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba's ecosystem in 2018.

Syed Mostahidal Hoq, managing director of Daraz Bangladesh, attended the event as the chief guest while Fuad Arefin, its chief commercial officer, and Khondoker Tasfin Alam, chief operating officer of the company, were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Mostahidal Hoq said, "After joining Alibaba's ecosystem, we realised that we truly want to make Daraz an ecosystem not just an e-commerce platform."

"We are very close to the target we set for 2020 from last year's seller summit.  Despite a slight backlash in sales early in the beginning of the Covid-19 situation, our business rebounded within a very short time and that has certainly been possible with the support of our beloved sellers," he added.
