Bangla is the state language of Bangladesh and is spoken by 270-285 million people all over the world. It has a rich history dating back over a thousand years, evolving from Gaudiya Prakrit, an ancient language spoken in eastern India. The earliest known Bangla literary work, the Charyapada, was composed between the 7th and 12th centuries.
