Gas consumption hits decade low in FY25

In FY25, gas consumption in Bangladesh fell to 900.3 Bcf, lowest in ten years, down from 916.2 Bcf in FY24. Gas production was also at 16-year lowest, with production declining 6.9% to 696.1 Bcf in FY25 from 747.74 Bcf the previous FY. Moreover, the country's remaining gas reserve is estimated to last only for five years till 2031.
