Female participation in banking rises to 16.51%

At the end of June 2026, the overall number of women employees in Bangladesh's banking sector saw a 2.60% growth to 35,971, up from 35,061 in December 2025. Their share of the sector's workforce also rose slightly to 16.51% from 16.50%. Meanwhile, only 10.55% of women bankers hold top positions, highlighting the persistent gender disparity in leadership roles.
