Bangladesh's livestock population rose to 47.59 crore in FY26, a 2.44% increase from 46.46 crore the year before, driven by growth in both ruminants (5.83 crore) and poultry (41.75 crore). While the country has reached self‑sufficiency in meat and egg production, milk output continues to lag behind domestic demand.
