NSU Communications Club hosts Job Column Season 4

The North South University Communications Club, in collaboration with the NSU Career & Placement Center (NSUCPC), successfully organised Pubali Bank PLC Presents Job Column Season 4 on 26 June 2025. The flagship career event, themed "Navigating the Job Market of Bangladesh", saw record participation, drawing students from all academic years and disciplines in what organisers described as the biggest Job Column to date.
The day-long programme combined a career seminar with an interactive job fair, designed to provide both professional guidance and practical employment opportunities. The event commenced with welcome speeches from Dr Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer and Pro-Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) of North South University, and Dr Md Taufiqul Islam, Director of CPC and Coordinator of B-JET and B-MET. Both speakers offered valuable perspectives on career development and the evolving employment landscape in Bangladesh.
The seminar featured a diverse panel of speakers from leading organisations. Md Abdul Quayyum, Head of Communications at UNDP Bangladesh, encouraged students to overcome mental blocks such as fear of failure and self-doubt. He shared his personal philosophy—the "Three H's: Head, Heart, and Hand"—as a guide for professional fulfilment.
Sadia Hossain, Board Director of YY Ventures, provided insight into entrepreneurship and corporate readiness. She highlighted the value of research and preparation in standing out during job applications.
Faija Ansari, Head of HR at UNDP, underlined the significance of authenticity and confidence in interviews. She also discussed how relevant experience and a well-crafted CV contribute to securing competitive job placements.
An engaging Q&A session followed, with students actively interacting with speakers, seeking advice on career paths, application strategies, and skill development.
The second half of the programme featured a job fair where recruiting partners, including Augmedix, UNDP Bangladesh, Yeamazing, and Greenbud, offered on-the-spot CV reviews, career counselling, and immediate employment opportunities. Students explored diverse sectors such as healthcare technology, international development, digital marketing, and sustainability.
Saadat Tariq, President of the NSU Communications Club, expressed his appreciation for the overwhelming response. "This season's turnout and engagement reflect students' enthusiasm for building meaningful careers. We're proud to play a role in bridging the gap between campus and corporate life."
With the continued growth and impact of Job Column, the NSU Communications Club plans to introduce more focused workshops and networking events in the coming semesters, strengthening its mission to prepare students for the real-world job market.
