Oscar-winner Adam McKay to turn hunt for Covid-19 vaccine into TV series

Popular network HBO and Oscar-winner Adam McKay are teaming up together to make a series on hunt for Covid-19 vaccine.

The series will be an adaptation of journalist Brenan Borrell's "The First Shot" book, reported by Variety.

The book tells the story of the global coronavirus vaccine race. It explores the companies and individuals putting everything on the line to save lives, the science it is based on, and the challenges playing out around politics, access, and safety.

The limited series is currently referred as "Untitled Vaccine Project" and additional details about the project, including cast, episode numbers, and release date haven't been released.

McKay is also working with the Oscar winning director Bong Joon Ho in an upcoming series on HBO based on the genre defying "Parasite" that shook the world with its portrayal of economic inequality last year.
