A feather has been added to the cap of Bangladesh's rock music industry, as popular rock band Shunno's bassist Michael Gomes has been enlisted as a Global Yamaha Artist.

He is the first ever artist from Bangladesh who has achieved this prestigious endorsement by Yamaha.

Recently, Michael used Broadbass BB235 by Yamaha at Joy Bangla Concert 2020. The news was shared on the official Facebook page of Yamaha Music Bangladesh.

Michael talked to the Business Standard about his achievement and the entire process. He said, "I went to the Yamaha store in Jamuna Future Park to review one of their basses and instantly fell in love with that instrument and felt the need to be connected with them"

"I prepared a profile and applied for the endorsement and the Yamaha official committee welcomed me into their family with open arms. Maybe I had the right kind of profile to be an endorsed artist."

"As an ambassador of Yamaha, I will be playing Yamaha basses from now on and will thrive to uplift the name of Bangladesh in the global scenario" he added.

When he was asked how long it took the entire application to be processed, he replied, "It was a very smooth process and they were really helpful and friendly."

"Some of the bass gods are there in the list, such as Nathan East, Abraham Laboriel and Billy Sheehan" said an excited Michael.

"I did not expect that they would accept my application, it is really a dream come true as Yamaha is a huge brand" added Michael happily.

The artist endorsement was done by Yamaha Corporation Japan with the help of their official distributor in Bangladesh ACI Motors Ltd.
