Animated sequel to ‘Tom and Jerry in New York’ coming to HBO Max
This animated series' announcement comes several months after the worldwide box office success of Tom and Jerry

Tom and Jerry will return to television screens in a new series from HBO Max in which the pair chase each other through the streets of New York.
The upcoming series will see Tom and Jerry move into the Royal Gate Hotel in New York, where their antics will wreak havoc across the city. Tom and Jerry in New York is being directed by Darrell Van Citters, who also serves as producer alongside Ashley Postlewaite. It is scheduled to premiere on July 1.
This animated series' announcement comes several months after the worldwide box office success of Tom and Jerry, which hit theaters in February and grossed $14.11 million over its opening weekend-- a substantial gain in the pandemic-era.
Since first appearing in 1940, Tom and Jerry have been the subjects of over over 160 theatrical short films, winning seven Academy Awards in the process, leading to innumerable spinoffs, episodic outings, animated features, video games and everything in between in the decades since.
