Academy Awards invites Bollywood celebrities Alia Bhatt and Hrithik Roshan

The Academy Of Motion Picture Art and Sciences has invited 819 artists and executives. Bollywood big names such as Alia Bhatt and Hrithik Roshan has been invited.

Other prominent Indian names have been seen on the invites as well- The likes of Neeta Lulla, director Nandini Shrikent, documentary filmmakers Nishita Jain and visual effect supervisor Sandeep Kamal.

Artists from 68 countries have been invited. 45 percent women and 36 percent people of color amid recent controversy surrounding racial representation.
Those who decide to accept the invitation will have voting rights in the coming Oscars. The 93rd Academy Awards are scheduled to be held on April 25, 2021.
In 2019, the Academy invited 842 new members. Popular names such as- Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and adept actor Anupam Kher were part of it.
