New faces in tea gardens

The Bait Ur Rouf Mosque in Dhaka, Bangladesh, designed by Marina Tabassum, features traditional brickwork techniques and aims to establish a unique architectural language inspired by the rich heritage of mosque architecture in Bengal from the Sultanate period. The mosque seamlessly incorporates traditional elements with a modern expression, earning it the prestigious Aga Khan Award for Architecture in the 2014-2016 cycle.

Political rally causes public peril: Transport crisis

Cyclone Sitrang made landfall on the coasts of Bangladesh on Monday. The storm, lasting for hours, left a trail of devastation in its wake in the country's coastal areas – mainly Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalokathi, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barishal, Laxmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar. As per reports from all across the country – total eight people have died from the cyclonic storm while several others have been injured.
