No update on PM Tarique's participation in BRICS outreach session: India
Tarique has been invited by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the BRICS outreach session during the summit, scheduled for 12 and 13 September.
India has no fresh information on whether Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will attend the BRICS outreach session in New Delhi, with four days remaining before the summit.
"I have no update to share with you on this," Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said at a biweekly media briefing in New Delhi today (8 September).

Asked whether Tarique's participation and the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were discussed during a meeting between Bangladesh President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi in Dhaka, Jaiswal said the meeting was primarily a courtesy call.
"Our high commissioner paid a courtesy call on the president of Bangladesh where they talked about various aspects of India-Bangladesh relations, our shared ties and our people-to-people ties and how we want to take this particular relationship forward in the days ahead," Jaiswal said.
"This particular meeting today was more focused on courtesies as also certain aspects of bilateral relations that were discussed," he added.
Asked about media reports that India and Bangladesh plan to resume cross-border passenger train services from October after a two-year suspension, Jaiswal said, "I don't have an update on it."
