US President Donald Trump has greeted Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and the people of Bangladesh on the occasion of Independence Day.

"On behalf of the American people, I wish you and the people of Bangladesh a happy Independence Day. This time of transition presents an opportunity for the people of Bangladesh to build capacity for democracy, economic progress, and enhanced security," he said in a message sent to the Bangladesh chief adviser.

Trump said the United States looks forward to continuing our partnership in this coming decisive year.
