Adilur discusses MoU between BSTI and Halal authority with Pakistan's commerce minister
Two sides explored ways to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including industrial development, agriculture, and trade

Bangladesh and Pakistan have held discussions on signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Pakistan's Halal Authority.
The matter was discussed during a meeting between Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan and Pakistan's Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan today (21 August) at the Ministry of Industries in Dhaka.
During the meeting, the two sides explored ways to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including industrial development, agriculture, and trade.
Welcoming the Pakistani commerce minister, Adilur Rahman Khan emphasised the importance of strengthening people-to-people connection and increasing mutual cooperation in the development of Bangladesh's sugar, leather, cement, shipbuilding, and agriculture industries.
The meeting also noted that a Joint Working Group has already been formed to promote the development of the sugar industry in both countries.
Jam Kamal Khan expressed his country's interest in expanding cooperation in multiple fields, including industrial development, agriculture, food security, trade, and investment.
Pakistan's newly-appointed High Commissioner in Dhaka Imran Haider, Industries Secretary Md Obaidur Rahman, and BSTI Director General SM Ferdous Alam were present at the meeting as well.
