Clashes erupted near the Parliament premises today (17 October) as the "July Warriors", comprising individuals wounded in the July Uprising and families of the martyred, attempted to gather to press their demands. Police used batons and three rounds of sound grenades to disperse the demonstrators, who had previously warned they would not leave until their demands were met.

Blocked by security, the protesters angrily lashed out with violence and threatened the interim government just hours before the July Charter signing ceremony, scheduled for 4:00pm at the Parliament's South Plaza.
