Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 debuts in Bangladesh
With dual electric motors producing 658 hp and 950 Nm of torque, the EQS 680 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds

Mercedes-Benz Bangladesh officially launched the all-electric Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 at its RANGS Babylonia showroom on 3 May, unveiling the marque's most opulent and technologically advanced SUV to date. Attended by industry insiders, journalists, and lifestyle influencers, the event offered a first look at the future of high-end electric motoring in the country.
With dual electric motors producing 658 hp and 950 Nm of torque, the EQS 680 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. A 118 kWh battery ensures a range of over 600 km on a single charge, with a 10-year battery warranty to match. It's quiet, quick, and wrapped in unmistakable luxury.

"We have around 15 units of the EQS 680 currently on their way to Bangladesh," said Imran Zaman, Divisional Director of Mercedes-Benz Bangladesh. The models unveiled were exclusive Night Edition variants, featuring Obsidian Black paint, dark chrome accents, Maybach-logo wheels, and a striking black-and-white Nappa leather interior.

The Maybach EQS differs significantly from the standard Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV launched last year. From upgraded suspension and enhanced soundproofing to executive lounge rear seats and bespoke trim, it's a more refined experience—tailored to a clientele that prefers being chauffeured in comfort and silence.
However, the shift from handcrafted V12 Maybachs to fully electric SUVs marks a clear change in philosophy. This new Maybach leans heavily into visual branding, with prominent badging across the exterior and cabin. The focus on screens over traditional materials like open-pore wood or metal switches may not appeal to purists who miss the subtler, more timeless craftsmanship of older models.

Still, the EQS 680 stands as a statement of intent. It is cutting-edge, serene, and unarguably Maybach—just reinterpreted for the electric age. Prices start at Tk 3.90 crore, rising to Tk 4.70 crore depending on options.
