Eid 2025: Subtle sophistication meets pastel elegance
This Eid, the most stylish choice is one that embraces the sophistication of subtlety, where craft, texture, and colour do all the talking

There is no doubt that this Eid, the trend is towards a more subtle, sophisticated look where less is more.
With the Eid festive season just around the corner, designer studios are embracing a direction towards softer tones, pastel colours, and soft, ethereal appearances. The collections this year are high-end, with a focus on fine embellishments, fluid silhouettes, and an ethereal feel that sets the tone for a stylish Eid wardrobe.
Gone are the days when loud, in-your-face colours dominated festive attire. Designers now craft appearances in soft blush pinks, icy blues, creamy ivories, and muted lilacs—each shade speaking volumes in its subdued elegance. Not only do the colours enhance the wearer's natural skin tone, but they also lend an effortless stylish and poised charm to the entire appearance.

Whether it is flowing sharis, fitted shararas, or long, flowing frocks, every appearance is a picture of modern elegance with a hint of tradition.
One of the most notable features in this season's collections is the yolks, hemlines, and sleeves detailing. The use of stones, pearls, and beads has added a new dimension to otherwise plain clothes.
Rather than being scattered all over the garment, embellishments are placed with precision, highlighting focal points and allowing the craftsmanship to be the centerpiece.

For example, in Ercole's Eid collection, embroidery is understated yet impactful, augmenting the soft hues of the fabric without overpowering them. The result is a subtle balance between tradition and modern-day elegance.
Silhouettes play a key determining factor in this year's aesthetic, with designers preferring fluid cuts that drop in a flowing drape for an airy, romantic appeal. Sheer overlays, elaborate lace, and understated embroidery contribute to the light, airy fabric, favoring understated craftsmanship over over-adornment.
Pastel tones not only exude elegance but also offer versatility. These hues transition seamlessly from day to night, making them ideal for various Eid festivities—whether it's a daytime gathering with family or a grand evening celebration.
The subtleness of these colours allows the wearer to accessorise freely, playing with statement jewelry, pearl earrings, or delicate floral hairpieces to add a personal touch.

"This year's Eid collections are all about softer tones and muted colours—it is a clear reflection of 2025's biggest fashion trends," says Waliur Rasul Shamuel, Somalicious' lead designer.
"Designers are leaning into powdery pastels such as icy blue and petal pink for that ethereal, elegant feel, while Pantone's Mocha Mousse is introducing those rich, earthy tones. There is a definite shift toward understated elegance and versatility in fashion, which makes these colours ideal for festive occasions like Eid," Shamuel adds.
Though softer colours dominate, the fabrics also make a major contribution to the overall loveliness of these pieces. Light, airy fabrics like organza, chiffon, and silk mixes have been the rage for the flow and movement they provide.
Crepe silk, muslin, on the other hand, are always the go-to fabrics for most of these designers like Sarah Karim or Soma Islam. Fabrics contribute to the effortlessly glamorous feel that most designers are trying this season.
The combination of muted hues, flowing silhouettes, and intricate yet subdued embellishments is proof that fashion need not be loud to make a statement.
