A Mini(s) sweet affair
Minis Dutch Pancakes brings bite-sized joy to your plate – and we tried a few to see if they live up to the hype.
When was the last time you visited a restaurant solely being drawn to their pancakes? Feel free to take this read as a sign. Just take that break from the too many waffle places around Dhaka and try something different.
Pancakes are gaining the well deserved popularity as a breakfast/brunch item. With that in mind, restaurants are doing well to introduce fancy toppings and even savoury options on the side to turn heads. In 2024, Minis Dutch Pancakes entered the scene as they introduced a temptingly intriguing menu.
Last week, I finally gave in to the urge and ordered from them for a taste test.
Woorio Nutella Krunch
Imagine soft, fluffy pancakes, that too with the goodness of nuts and chocolate-y powder showers. If you are not that into nuts or almonds, they have got you covered with the same option, minus the crunchy bits.
For me, they were a good contrast to, as the name itself suggests – the Nutella induced softness. The pancakes radiated strong homemade cake vibes, reminding me of the thousands of mug cakes I made while stuck in quarantine. But there was a faint, but firm eggy flavour as well that was downplaying the overall rich taste.

Nutella Dutch Pancake
These pancakes are for the minimalist foodies – those who believe that less is more, but never compromise on taste. The real ones know simplicity can be powerful, and these pancakes prove just that.
Topped with colorful sprinkles, they are sure to catch the eyes of kids, but there is more potential here than just eye candy.
While traditional pancakes do not usually have a filling, there is always room to experiment. Even the simplest versions can be elevated with a little creativity.

Rose Lemonade
First things first, the bottle that the lemonade comes in is adorable. Almost enough for me to ignore that it was not my cup of tea (or bottle of lemonade) at all. Hey, I am just a girl and did I mention that it is pink? Jokes apart, personally I like my drinks better when they do not remind me of a tangier Rooh Afza.

Final verdict
Each of their pancake boxes are generously filled with 10 mini pancakes. One box can easily be shared between two people. If you are feeling possessive and have no intention of sharing, they still are worth every penny.
One might feel like these are a bit too sugary for breakfast, I will admit, I was sceptical myself. Even as someone who does not have a sweet tooth whatsoever – thankfully, I did not find the sweetness overwhelming at all.
The base cake is warm and velvety soft – which just perfectly complements all of the other toppings and flavours. Besides being located in Gulshan 2, they deliver with Foodi, Pathao and Foodpanda.
So take a leap of faith. You might end up with a sweet surprise.
