TikTok introduces STEM feed in Bangladesh, aims to address disparities in education access, nurture creativity in young mind
TikTok team showcased how technology can address disparities in education access between Bangladesh’s urban centres and rural, underserved areas, where learners often face challenges related to infrastructure and resources

TikTok, with the support of the Government of Bangladesh, today (6 October) announced the launch of a dedicated STEM Feed in Bangladesh, creating a new in-app destination for credible science, technology, engineering and mathematics content.
This initiative signals a new era where TikTok, together with its vibrant Bangladeshi community, will come together to reimagine how education can be accessed, shared, and strengthened in a digital-first world, said a press release.

Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, adviser for the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, attended the event as a special guest.
Speaking at the event, Farooki said, "Bangladesh's young people are naturally curious and creative. When we pair that creative spirit with safe, credible STEM learning, we don't just improve study outcomes—we nurture a culture of problem-solving and innovation."

Meanwhile, the TikTok team showcased how technology can address disparities in education access between Bangladesh's urban centres and rural, underserved areas, where learners often face challenges related to infrastructure and resources.
STEM Feed is designed to serve as a dedicated in-app space where users can access a curated stream of credible STEM content. By embedding learning content into a platform already widely used across Bangladesh, STEM Feed can help ensure that students across the country gain equal exposure to high-quality, credible STEM knowledge.
Additionally, TikTok has launched a dedicated hashtag #STEMTok, where it will feature content created by partners, creators, and publishers, providing easy access to local language STEM content in the country.
At the event, discussions highlighted how this new feature can complement the government's priorities for expanding quality digital education, with emphasis on inclusion, teacher support, and safe-use standards. The gathering also featured demonstrations of practical, locally relevant use cases and explored avenues for responsible collaboration with stakeholders in the education sector.

Ferdous Mottakin, Head of Public Policy & Government Relations for South Asia at TikTok, remarked, "STEM Feed represents a meaningful step forward in making education more accessible, engaging, and safe for our community in Bangladesh. By working with parents, teachers, and policymakers, we want to ensure this platform not only inspires curiosity but also supports national goals for digital inclusion and youth empowerment."
The introduction of the STEM Feed aligns with TikTok's global Community Guidelines, reinforcing the integrity of the learning environment. Only credible and appropriate educational content is featured, ensuring that the platform can be trusted by educators, parents, and policymakers alike.
This STEM Feed launch marks an important milestone in Bangladesh's digital journey: one where government, industry, and the country's young creators come together to explore how technology can strengthen learning, bridge opportunity gaps, and inspire the next generation of innovators.
