Peninsula Premier League 2025 held in Chattogram

The Peninsula Chittagong hosted the Peninsula Premier League (PPL) 2025 with a vibrant opening ceremony at Kwality Cricket Field today (19 April), igniting a wave of excitement and sportsmanship.

The annual cricket tournament, featuring three dynamic teams—Peninsula Lions, Peninsula Warriors, and Peninsula Gladiators—celebrated unity, teamwork, and healthy competition among the hotel's associates, according to a press release.

The inaugural event was graced by  Sumedha Gunawardana, General Manager of The Peninsula Chittagong, as Chief Guest, who delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing team spirit and integrity. "This tournament is a testament to our commitment to fostering camaraderie and a balanced work culture," he remarked, encouraging participants to showcase their passion both on and off the field.

Presented by Title Sponsor Ispahani Tea Limited and Co-Sponsor Este Medical Bangladesh Ltd., the PPL 2025 highlighted a shared dedication to wellness and collaboration through sports. The tournament, a cornerstone of The Peninsula Chittagong's annual traditions, strengthens interdepartmental bonds and promotes a vibrant workplace environment.

The matches delivered thrilling action, with fans enthusiastically cheering for the Lions, Warriors, and Gladiators. The Peninsula Gladiators emerged as the champions, earning accolades for their exceptional performance, teamwork, and relentless spirit.

The prize giving ceremony was attended by Sumedha Gunawardana, all heads of departments, and distinguished guests, including Nur Nabi, Sales Manager of Tea Marketing at Ispahani Tea Limited, and representatives from Este Medical Bangladesh Ltd. The event celebrated the champions and underscored the spirit of partnership.
