Club Notredamians hosts badminton tournament at Bashundhara Sports City
Club Notredamians Bangladesh Ltd. organised its flagship badminton tournament on 31m January 2026, bringing together alumni and members for a day of competitive play and community engagement at Bashundhara Sports City near the Purbachal 300-feet road.
Sponsored by NRB Bank and supported by the Notre Dame College Batch of 2002, the tournament featured 56 players competing in 28 teams under a doubles format.
After a series of closely contested matches, Mohammad Abu Nader Al Mukkaddes and Mohammad Mamunur Rashid of the 1994 batch clinched the championship title. The runners-up position went to Mohammad Sadikur Rahman of the 1996 batch and Mohammad Shafiqul Islam Ontu of the 1997 batch.
The event was inaugurated at 11:00am by Club President Syed Abu Naser Bukhtear Ahmed, who highlighted the role of sports in promoting physical fitness and strengthening bonds among alumni.
"These sporting initiatives are essential for fostering brotherhood, mutual respect, and a healthy lifestyle within our community," he said.
The prize-giving ceremony was attended by Md Towfiqul Alam Chowdhury, Head of Branch Banking at NRB Bank, and Abu Saleh Md Sayem, EC Sports, along with Executive Committee members Arif Chowdhury, Kazi Md Mahabubul Haque, and Mallick Nazrul Islam.
The Club's Executive Committee thanked sponsors, organisers, and participants for ensuring a disciplined and vibrant tournament, reiterating its commitment to organising regular social and sporting activities for Notre Dame College alumni.
