CIS-BCCI seeks to increase trade with Russia

Commonwealth of Independent States-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CIS-BCCI) wants to increase trade with Russia and CIS countries. The organisation recently sought cooperation from the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FBCCI) in this regard.

CIS-BCCI President Md Habib Ullah Dawn on Tuesday called on the newly elected FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin to cooperate in increasing trade with Russia and CIS countries by moving obstacles in the smooth banking transaction between Russia and Bangladesh.

In a meeting with Uddin during a courtesy visit by the Board of Directors of CIS-BCCI, Dawn elaborated on the activities of CIS-BCCI in the exploration and advocacy of the organisation to have increased trade with Russia and CIS-countries to diversify the organisation's export market to a third destination after US and EU.

CIS-BCCI president also sought cooperation from FBCCI to achieve an agreement with Eurasian Economic Community for having duty free market access to Russia and CIS countries, reads a press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Uddin praised the CIS-BCCI activities in exploring a third export market and assured of all-out cooperation to the organisation in achieving its aims and objectives.  

From CIS-BCCI, Senior Vice President Mohammad Ali Deen, Vice President Jadab Debnath, Adviser Mahbub Islam Runu, Secretary Mustafa Mohiuddin, Directors Md Enamul Haque, Tauhida Sultana, Salma Hossain Ash, Abdul Latif Sarker, Sheikh Fayez Alam were present in the meeting along with FBCCI Director Bijoy Kumar Kejriwal and others.
