Premier Bank declares no dividend for 2024, posts loss in first half of 2025

Premier Bank has announced that it will not provide any dividend for the year that ended on 31 December 2024, as the bank struggled with declining profitability.
The decision came at a meeting of the board of directors, which also set the bank's annual general meeting (AGM) for 13 October 2025, with 17 September 2025 fixed as the record date, according to the price sensitive statement filed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Thursday.
For 2024, the bank reported a consolidated earnings per share (EPS) of Tk1.09, a sharp fall from Tk3.37 in 2023. Its net asset value (NAV) per share stood at Tk21.73.
The downturn deepened in the first half of 2025. From April to June 2025, consolidated EPS slipped to loss of Tk1.33 per share.
For the January–June 2025 period, Loss per share stood at Tk1.11.
The bank attributed the decline to rising interest expenses and reduced exchange earnings, both of which weighed heavily on its bottom line.
