Heirs of Acme Labs MD's to equally inherit Tk67cr in shares
The company's net profit has exceeded Tk100 crore annually for the past five years.
The heirs of Mizanur Rahman Sinha, the late managing director and sponsor director of Acme Laboratories Limited, are set to receive his entire shareholding in the company as inheritance.
According to a disclosure filed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) today (3 June), the development follows the passing of the company's veteran leader on 16 May.
Sinha held a total of 85.74 lakh shares in the pharmaceutical company, which will be transferred to his heirs-two children-in equal proportions as his nominated successors.
His daughter, Tasneem Sinha, who currently serves as Deputy Managing Director, will receive 42.87 lakh shares. An equal portion will go to his son, Tanvir Sinha, also a director of the company under the regulatory framework.
At yesterday's market price of Tk78.10 per share, the total value of Sinha's holdings stands at approximately Tk66.96 crore, with each sibling inheriting a stake worth roughly Tk33.35 crore.
Although the face value of these shares is Tk10 each — amounting to a nominal Tk8.57 crore — ownership will be transferred based on prevailing market value through an off-market process.
Acme Laboratories is listed under the 'A' category and has consistently rewarded investors since its debut on the bourse in 2016, declaring a 35% cash dividend for fiscal year 2025.
The company's net profit has exceeded Tk100 crore annually for the past five years. It posted a net profit of Tk243 crore in 2025, just below its record Tk246 crore in 2024.
