Indices of the both stock exchanges witnessed moderate gain amid low turnover in the first one-and-half hour of trading session on Monday.
According to market analysts, "Market witnessed slow trend in the last couple of sessions as some investors are into profit taking mood."
DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained 0.06% or 3.73 points to settle at 5,653 till 11:30 am.
During this session, DSE turnover dropped by 14% to Tk256.68 crore.
Beximco Limited leads the turnover chart with trading worth Tk54.95 crore and its share price fell by 0.57% to Tk86.70 each.
Moreover, DSE Shariah index DSES rose 0.17% to 1,267 points and the blue-chip index DS30 fell by 0.24% to 2,155 points.
During this session, 153 companies share price rose, while 67 issues fell and 111 issues price remain unchanged during the session at the DSE.
The benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) rose by 17 points to 16,492 till 11:30 am.
